The 32-year-old said he will share 'revelations' because Pogba's team-mates and sponsors "deserve to know certain things" - and even mentioned the name of his international teammate Kylian Mbappe. Rival managers have been calling each other to talk about stopping Erling Haaland, he's that good

Image
It has emerged that rival Premier League managers have been calling each other in a bid to try and stop in-form Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. The 22-year-old forward, who joined Pep Guardiola's side from Borussia Dortmund this summer in a deal worth £51 million, has already scored six goals in four league games this season. On Saturday afternoon, in their clash against Crystal Palace, the Norwegian bagged his first hat-trick for City as they came back from 2-0 down to win 4-2 at the Etihad. In the aftermath of that game, where Haaland's pace, power and composure in front of goal destroyed Palace's defensive line, a report from The Telegraph gave fans a fascinating insight into the striker's arrival. The 22-year-old forward has been described by one rival manager as "an alien" who is "stronger, taller and faster than anything we have seen before", according to the report. And such is his presence, rival managers have already been discussin...

Sunderland fan boldly suggests club should appoint Brighton’s Graham Potter as new manager

Image
A Sunderland fan has told the club to be ambitious and appoint Brighton’s Graham Potter as their new manager to replace Alex Neil.  Neil shocked the Championship club after he expressed his desire to leave Sunderland for Stoke.  After the news broke, a Sunderland fan tweeted to ask fellow supporters who they wanted the club to appoint as Neil’s replacement.  Many fans replied with former Burnley manager Sean Dyche , however, one fan had a more ambitious target.  The fan said: “I would like the club to show some ambition and try to tempt Graham Potter from Brighton. “Seems laughable, but surely we have to be convincing managers (and ourselves?) that we are top 10 Prem potential, and Potter has surely taken Brighton as far as he can.”  Many fans were quick to make fun of the tweet. One fan replied: “Is this a comedy account? Potter has taken Brighton as far as he can? So what, he should now jump down a level and start again from the bottom?” Another said: ...

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang physically assaulted during 'violent' armed robbery at his home

Image
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was physically assaulted during a 'violent' armed robbery at his home in Castelldefels, Barcelona on Monday morning, according to reports. At least four men are alleged to have entered the property at 1am, according to Spanish publication El Pais, who report that the thieves climbed into the garden and threatened both Aubameyang and his wife with firearms and iron bars. They proceeded to intimidate the victim and his wife with weapons until they managed to open a safe. It is reported that several jewels were taken. According to several witnesses, the men then fled the scene in a white Audi A3. Aubameyang and his wife have since submitted statements to local police, who are now trying to identify those responsible for the armed robbery in Castelldefels. It was widely reported last week that Premier League outfit Chelsea have reportedly agreed to sign Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona in a deal worth £18 million. According to Barcelona insider Ger...

Manchester United are paying £18 million to Sao Paulo this summer

Image
Manchester United are paying £18 million to Brazilian club Sao Paulo this summer thanks to transfer clauses. Widespread reports on Sunday night claimed United had reached an agreement to sign top target Antony from Ajax in a whopping £84 million deal - a record for an Eredivisie transfer. The Brazil international has been desperate to link up with Erik ten Hag again and according to Fabrizio Romano, is poised to sign a contract until 2027 but with the option of an extra year. Antony will become the second player Ten Hag has acquired from his former club, who also received a fee of £57 million for defender Lisandro Martinez. But Sao Paulo, Antony's first club, are also in line for a huge financial windfall. He joined the academy of his local club in 2010 and went on to play 52 times for the first-team. He left for Ajax in a £13 million move two years ago and Sao Paulo were able to negotiate a 20 per cent sell on clause in his contract. That clause, coupled with a solidar...

Chelsea make late move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha

Image
Chelsea have revived their interest in Wilfried Zaha and are exploring a deal to sign the Crystal Palace forward before the transfer window closes. The Ivory Coast winger has been a target for Chelsea in the past but Palace’s asking price last summer was around £90m. Chelsea were unwilling to pay that much but Zaha has just a year left on his deal at Selhurst Park, which has weakened the Eagles’ hand. Patrick Vieira is desperate to keep Zaha but the club know his ambition is to play in the Champions League and this could be the club’s last chance to get big money for the winger. Chelsea had been negotiating a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but Barcelona are seeking around £30m for the 33-year-old. Thomas Tuchel wants to strengthen his attack following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. Manchester United have three priorities after agreeing Antony transfer

Image
Erik ten Hag hopes to sign up to four players before the transfer window closes after Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Ajax winger Antony. Antony, 22, looks set to be granted his wish of moving to Old Trafford after widespread reports of an £84m fee being agreed with Ajax on Sunday afternoon. The Brazilian had been a priority target for Ten Hag since he joined the club earlier in the summer but United spent much of their energy in an unsuccessful pursuit for Frenkie de Jong. However, Antony took matters into his own hands over the weekend by essentially going on strike in the Dutch capital and Ajax have caved to his demands by accepting a record fee for an Eredivisie player. But United’s work is far from done this summer and the Telegraph say Ten Hag wants to sign three more players once Antony is through the door. Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka has handed in a transfer request in a bid to get his move to Old Trafford but their remains distance betwee...

Cristiano Ronaldo naps five times a day and it's one of the biggest reasons behind his success

Image
Cristiano Ronaldo takes up to five naps a day and they last 90 minutes each, according to a sleep expert. The Manchester United striker is insanely dedicated to his craft and is one of the world's best thanks to his state of the art routines. Nick Littlehales worked with Ronaldo during his time at Real Madrid and broke down how he gets his forty winks in an interview with The Independent. Ronaldo sleeps in the foetal position and is obsessed with marginal gains when it comes to personal performance. He explained: "Anyone who has ever worked with Ronaldo knows that if you have a discussion in the corner of the room, he will come over and ask what you are talking about. Ronaldo is still one of the world's deadliest strikers. (Image Credit: Alamy) "I was invited to Real Madrid when Carlo Ancelotti became manager [in 2013]. I was standing on the edge of the training pitch, talking to the Madrid staff, when Ronaldo ran over. "He had been training all day and...

Kylian Mbappe produces miss of the season from six yards out, it was an open goal

Image
Kylian Mbappe produced a horrific miss from SIX yards out for Paris Saint-Germain against former side Monaco on Sunday night. Monaco took a shock lead against the Ligue One Champions at the Parc des Princes but somehow PSG didn't level matters just before half-time. Mbappe regained possession for his side on the halfway line and dribbled past an opponent in glorious fashion before feeding Lionel Messi. The Argentine cut on his trusty left foot and unleashed a powerful strike that smacked the post. But the ball bounced back into play and directly into the path of Mbappe for what looked to be a certain equaliser. However, with the goal open, Mbappe's first-time finish struck the woodwork for a second time in a matter of seconds. It was an explicable miss from Mbappe, who showed that it can happen to the very best from time to time. Mo Salah can attest to that, having conjured up the worst miss of his career against Bournemouth on Saturday. The Egyptian star failed to get ...

Erling Haaland's hat-trick goal was sensational, his strength is freakish

Image
Erling Haaland's goal for his first ever Premier League hat-trick was the absolute epitome of what he brings to the table. Manchester City found themselves 2-0 down at home to Crystal Palace, who have been something of a 'bogie' side for the Premier League champions in recent years. It was two goals from set pieces, with John Stones putting through his own net and Joachim Andersen heading home a shock second in the first half. City were heading for dropped points for the second consecutive game after the 3-3 draw against Newcastle but Bernardo Silva pulled one back shortly after half-time. And from then on it was the Haaland show. City's No.9 equalised with a brilliant header from a Phil Foden cross and then doubled his tally with a tap in. But it was his third and final goal to make it 4-2 which showed his insane qualities as a striker. Ilkay Gundogan fed Haaland, who made a sublime run and showed freakish strength before supplying the clinical finish. Image:...

Liverpool's sale of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich branded 'the worst bit of business ever seen in football'

Image
Paul Merson believes Liverpool's sale of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich is "the worst bit of business" he has ever seen in football. The Senegalese forward ended a glorious six-year stint at Liverpool in the summer, joining Bayern Munich in a £35 million switch and penning a three-year deal. Mane has already been ripping it up in the Bundesliga with three goals in as many games, including a brace in the 7-0 hiding inflicted on VFL Bochum last weekend. Image: Alamy Meanwhile, with Mane no longer around, Liverpool failed to record a victory in their opening three fixtures. The former Southampton man scored 120 goals for the club and was integral in their Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup triumphs under Jurgen Klopp. He wanted to move on to a new challenge but former Arsenal legend Merson has slammed the decision to offload him. "No one’s got started yet for Liverpool, no one’s playing well,” Merson said on Sky Sports on Saturday. “With Sadio M...

Liverpool get over tough start to the Premier League by battering Bournemouth

Image
Liverpool equalled a Premier League record held by Manchester United and Leicester City, by absolutely obliterating Bournemouth 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. Please turn off your ad blocking software to view this video It had not been a good start to the league for Liverpool, after drawing their first two games of the season, and the loss to United last Monday left them in 15th place. However, the weekend was an opportunity for them to start turning things around, and how Jurgen Klopp's team took it, in the biggest way possible. The Anfield didn't exactly 'welcome' Bournemouth to Merseyside, instead treating them with the disdain of an unwanted house guest. It took the hosts just three minutes to take the lead, through Luis Diaz, before Harvey Elliott doubled the lead before the 10 minute mark. Mohamed Salah should have made it 3-0, but put forward his attempt at miss of the season, but they didn't have to wait long for more goals to flow. Things already lo...

Erling Haaland is happy Phil Foden 'finally' passed to him

Image
Erling Haaland revealed his relief that Phil Foden 'finally' passed to him, as he scored a hat-trick against Crystal Palace, as you can see in the video below. When Haaland first joined Manchester City he was asked about linking up with Foden, already considered one of the most talented midfielders in the world despite his young age. The Norwegian wasn't quite as effusive with his praise for the England star as many, pointing out that the 22-year-old 'still has to develop.' Last weekend it certainly looked like Haaland might have had a point, as Foden failed to pass to his new teammate, instead choosing to shoot in the game against Newcastle United. Foden was in great form on Saturday. Image: Alamy At the time, Pep Guardiola's team were 1-0 up and without Foden's poor decision making would have surely doubled their lead, before going on to drop two points in a 3-3 draw. On Saturday, Haaland was really needed to dig his side out of a hole, as they ...

Ederson had a Loris Karius moment against Crystal Palace, goal was controversially disallowed

Image
Ederson had a Loris Karius moment against Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium but was let off the hook after the gaffe. City found themselves 2-0 down to Patrick Vieira's side, who scored both goals from set pieces in the first half. John Stones put through his own net before Joachim Andersen headed home the second shortly after. And the visitors had the ball in the net for a third time when Jordan Ayew seized on the error from Ederson. The Brazilian shotstopper made a save to to deny Cheick Doucouré from distance and he was keen to get City playing quickly as always. However, Ederson's attempted throw out got a touch off Odsonne Edouard and ended up right in the path of Ayew, who slotted in. The Ghana international was ready to celebrate but referee Graham Scott blew his whistle and chalked off the goal. City players had stopped to appeal but plenty felt as though the incident was no different to Karim Benzema nicking the ball of Karius in the 2018 Champions League fin...

Paul Scholes accused of being disrespectful to Ajax over Antony transfer

Image
Paul Scholes has been accused of disrespecting Ajax, whilst discussing Antony's potential move from the Eredivisie club to Manchester United. It's been a long summer of transfer speculation at Old Trafford and things show no signs of slowing down in the last five days of the transfer window. The most hotly tipped player to move to United, now that the Frenkie de Jong deal looks dead in the water, is Antony, as Erik ten Hag looks to add to his forward options. Earlier in the week it was reported that the Brazilian has handed in a transfer request at the Johan Cruyff Arena, having previously left out of squads for the team. Ajax reportedly want more than €90 million euros for the 22-year-old and have so far rejected offers, which has left the player very unhappy, speaking out against the club in a recent interview. Antony has been the subject of an offer form United. Image: Alamy On Saturday, Scholes was in attendance as United beat Southampton 1-0, as they narrowly got awa...
