West Ham set to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca after Chelsea delay Armando Broja deal


West Ham have agreed a £35.5 million deal to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca after growing frustrated in their talks with Chelsea for Armando Broja.

Earlier this week, West Ham submitted a bid of £30m plus add-ons to Chelsea for Broja but the west London club have been reluctant to approve the sale.

According to The Times, West Ham have been left frustrated by Chelsea’s ‘dithering’ and have now pushed ahead with a move for Scamacca.

West Ham have agreed to pay £30.5m up front to Sassuolo plus a further £5m in add-ons, while a 10 per cent resale clause is also included as part of the deal.

The 23-year-old will head to West ham off the back of scoring 16 goals in Serie A last season.

West Ham have also made a move to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s versatile left-sider Filip Kostic and have made a £12m offer.

Broja, meanwhile, now looks set to stay at Chelsea for the time being, with Thomas Tuchel claiming earlier this week that he expects the 20-year-old striker to remain at Stamford Bridge.

‘Armando is our player first of all and we have, at the moment, no interest in selling him,’ Tuchel said.

‘He is here to make an impression after he was on loan in Southampton. That’s his situation from where we look up front. It’s good if there’s interest as it shows us there’s talent and potential.

‘It shows us that Armando is in the position to impress and become a Chelsea player.

‘When will he become a Chelsea player? Nobody knows but hopefully as soon as possible.’

Chelsea make late move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha

Chelsea have revived their interest in Wilfried Zaha and are exploring a deal to sign the Crystal Palace forward before the transfer window closes.
